Hello, my lovelies! I have decided to start this blog so I can share my love for art with all of you! I have loved art since I was little and have always collected random supplies. Whether it be pens, pencils, and markers, or loads of notebooks and different kinds of papers. I have always loved to create, and it has been a big source of happiness in my life.
A little bit about me. My name is Catherine, I am 25 and I live in South Carolina. Although Washington is my real home. I am married and have one little chubby fur ball of a kitty named Ash (although he should be named Toothless.). I do not have any formal education in art or design, but I do have a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. I love all things animals, especially my little guy. I love to read, and I own a couple of hundred of books (even though I have not read even half of them). I am easy-going and spend most of my time hanging out at home with the kitty, watching tv, doing art, reading, playing Animal Crossing, and munching on any snacks I can find.
Starting my own business and blog have been a long-time dream of mine and apparently, 2020 is the year that I will finally pursue them. I recently started an Etsy shop where I sell stickers that I hand draw and hand-make from my home art studio and I am hoping that someday all of this will be my day job.
This blog is going to be a mix of topics. All posts will be centered around art in some way or another with some being DIY projects, others being general discussions about art, maybe talk about my favorite materials, and much more.
I personally like to sketch with pencils, paint with watercolor and art journal. Although those are not my only mediums (just my favorite). I also draw digitally and create stickers that I sell on my Etsy shop, as well as paint with acrylics and illustrate with markers and colored pencils.
I am always up for a challenge though and will be trying some new techniques and new mediums with you guys to expand my palette. I am always welcome to new ideas and would love to hear from you guys on what projects or materials I should give a shot as well as any requests on blog posts you would enjoy reading.
I will also have a bi-weekly post where you get to sit down with me and have some tea while I talk about what has been going on in my life both artistically and personally. You will learn a little bit more about me and what I do, as well as get highlights on what has been happening in my world.
I hope that this blog brings entertainment and joy to everyone who reads it. But if not, it will at least bring me joy to write it and share my love with people around the world.
